To support this need, United Way of Dane County is seeking a full-time Assistant Director/Director of Strategic Collaborations to work in United Way’s Community Impact Department.  The Community Impact department supports the organization's investments in community programs, evaluation and reporting measures and community partner collaborations.  The Assistant Director/Director will be responsible for working to increase the scale and effectiveness of our priority initiatives that focus on housing, employment and basic needs through proposal development and continuous program monitoring and evaluation.  The position requires strong writing and project management skills, experience in proposal writing and knowledge of local community issues.     Position: Project Scientist – Evaluation

    JOB SUMMARY

    This Project Scientist – Program Evaluation is a new position.  This individual will serve as a scientific collaborator in designing and implementing evaluation strategies for research, intervention and outreach endeavors of the National Farm Medicine Center and the NIOSH-funded National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety.  Additionally, this individual will have opportunities to lead or participate in evaluation activities of scientists and program leaders throughout the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute.  Job functions will include: establishing plans for evaluation methods, data collection and analysis of results; developing toolkits or templates to train others in implementing evaluations; facilitating the utilization of evaluation findings to improve programs; and communicating findings to program staff, scientific colleagues and the general public.   

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic Health System.  Required education is a terminal degree (PhD, EdD, MD, DrPH) in evaluation, public health, social sciences, behavioral science, health informatics or related field. 

    Experience

    Minimum of one year of progressive experience in program evaluation, data management, data entry, and software such as SPSS, SAS, STATE, or RedCap.

    The University of Wisconsin-Stout invites applications for one full-time Assistant Professor of Psychology – Evaluation Research in the Department of Psychology. Anticipated start date: August 19, 2019.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum / Required

    • PhD in Psychology with graduate training in program evaluation or PhD in Program Evaluation with graduate training in psychology by date of employment

    Preferred / Desired

    • §  Experience and/or interest in graduate-level teaching, particularly in program evaluation
    • §  Experience and/or interest in teaching college-level psychology courses such as research methods, statistics, and introductory psychology
    • §  Experience and/or interest in:
    • o   Scholarship in program evaluation/evaluation research
    • o   Mentoring and collaborative research work with graduate and/or undergraduate students
    • o   Graduate thesis advisement
    • o   University/professional service
    • §  Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence through teaching, research, or service

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Faculty members teach the equivalent of 12 credits (4 courses) per semester in a variety of formats (e.g., in-person, online, hybrid), engage in an active program of scholarship and mentorship with undergraduate and/or graduate students, provide academic advisement, advise graduate theses, assess student learning, and participate in university service.

     

    DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

    The successful candidate will join a department with a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Applied Psychology. The M.S. program is a 42-credit, 2-year in-person program with concentrations in Evaluation Research, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.  The Department of Psychology is a collaborative group of 10 faculty and 6 instructional staff housed in a newly renovated building with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities supporting many opportunities for faculty/student collaborations in the classroom and lab, suitable for both basic and applied research.  Resources available include: numerous interfaced single-subject rooms, a facility for focus-group research, and a variety of research equipment and software for psychological research.

    This position closes on 8/8 – two weeks from now. This is a relatively high level position. It’s possible that this person could be based outside of Madison.
