    The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, announces a position for a leading scholar in evaluation. This position affirms Illinois’ decades of national and international leadership in contemporary evaluation theory and practice that consequentially strengthens educational and social programs and policies.

    This evaluation scholar will join a diverse community of educational researchers with shared commitments to equity and social justice. Our diversity lies not only in the demographics of our faculty and graduate students, but also in evaluative and research methodologies and epistemologies. The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois is widely recognized as one of the top five Educational Psychology Departments in the country; our College of Education is in the top 25. There are many opportunities to collaborate on evaluation projects with top-ranked programs across campus (e.g., College of Engineering, School of Social Work, National Center for Super Computing Applications, Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, Human Development and Family Studies, and the new College of Medicine). We seek a colleague in evaluation who will contribute to our notable scholarship and further enhance our national leadership in educational evaluation.

    Position Responsibilities & Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a strong record of intellectual contributions to evaluation, substantial field experience as an evaluator, and expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods. The candidate’s own scholarly research can span multiple locations within the evaluation field, from standards for evaluation practice to evaluation theory and to methodological advancements. The candidate will be expected to maintain a significant program of funded research on evaluation and to help strengthen and enhance Illinois’ evaluation program. The candidate will further be expected to attract and mentor qualified graduate students, to teach graduate courses in evaluation and inquiry methodology, and to provide meaningful service both within the university and in outside communities.

    Salary and Starting Date: Rank and salary will be competitive and commensurate with the individual’s rank and experience. The proposed starting date is August 16, 2018.

    Performance Evaluation Director
    Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau - Madison, WI

    Overview

    The Legislative Audit Bureau is seeking a critical-thinking Performance Evaluator Director to join our team. This position will report to the State Auditor and represent the Bureau in interactions with senior officials from across state government. The Legislative Audit Bureau is a nonpartisan service agency of the Wisconsin Legislature that is responsible for conducting performance evaluations and financial audits to ensure public accountability for state resources.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Leadership:

    • Collaborates with other senior leadership and State Auditor to develop and implement audit plans to meet the required audit objectives.
    • Manages work of team leaders, establish expectations, and assess performance.
    • Meets frequently with evaluation teams to review analyses, plan additional evaluation work, and develop tentative conclusions for further consideration.
    • Performs quality assurance procedures through selected review of documentation.
    • Participates in staff development and assists in recruiting additional staff.
    • Effectively balances staffing resources to meet deadlines.

    Audit Operations:

    • Prepares plans to meet requirements of assigned audits.
    • Develops appropriate and thorough analyses.
    • Monitors each evaluation to ensure quality and completeness of the evaluation work.
    • Prepares timely and accurate evaluation reports.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Leadership experience, including leading, motivating, and developing staff
    • Ten years of experience in the field of performance evaluation or related field
    • Knowledge of public policy analysis and methods of measuring program effectiveness and efficiency
    • Demonstrated experience in determining appropriate research strategies, planning and conducting complex performance evaluations, and leading others in performing these functions
    • Experience working effectively in a team setting to promote a positive, productive work environment
    • Critical thinking, analytical, multi-tasking, writing, and oral communication skills
    • Graduate or professional degree in an academic discipline emphasizing analytical skills or policy analysis

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and applications of performance evaluation
    • Extensive understanding of government policies, budgets, management, and operations
    • Experience coaching, supervising, and training multi-disciplinary teams of evaluation professionals

    The UW Population Health Institute is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support with evaluation of opioid-epidemic related grants. The Research Specialist will help design, develop, implement, analyze and maintain data collection tools and reports. The position will also support implementation of evaluation plans and studies and will assist and train local and county programs to plan, implement and use appropriate evaluation and data collection systems.  Experience and a strong interest in evaluation and applied research, particularly in the areas of opioid abuse prevention and treatment, strongly preferred.

    This Request for Proposals (RFP) from Sojourner Family Peace Center (Sojourner) and Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) is to contract an experienced Program Evaluator for the period of 05/01/2017—10/30/2018 to conduct a Program Evaluation of the “Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking Program.” This program is designed to support a lead law enforcement agency and a lead victim service provider in the development and enhancement of multidisciplinary human trafficking task forces that implement collaborative approaches to combat all forms of human trafficking, including sex and labor trafficking of both foreign nationals and U.S. citizens (of all genders and ages), within the United States.
