AEA invites you to submit a proposal for the Evaluation 2023 conference, taking place October 9-14, 2023 in Indianapolis, IN! We look forward to joining together with evaluators from across the globe to focus on key trends in the field of evaluation.
As you submit your proposal to present at Evaluation 2023, keep in mind – we are looking for both creativity and variety in your submissions.
All submissions are due by 11:59 PM ET on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Our theme for 2023 is "The Power of Story." Storytelling serves many purposes: it can build relationships, ground evaluation work, describe the context, convey data, impose meaning, share lessons learned, and identify challenges left to address.
Evaluation can tell stories; sometimes story fuels evaluation instead. Evaluation 2023 will reflect on how storytelling contributes to and shapes the narrative of evaluations, and dive deeper into storytelling’s usage, benefits, and impacts on our practices.
Keep these questions in mind when submitting your proposal:
- How have you used a story in your evaluations, or evaluations in your stories?
- How did you come to tell the story of your data?
- When have the stories you heard affected your evaluation choices?
