"I am excited to see iMilwaukee Evaluation! Inc. flourish and grow; its possibilities really are endless. Several catalyst events led to our formation. The first was a summer evaluation training hosted at the Nonprofit Center of Greater Milwaukee. The training was supposed to be an Evaluation 101 session for nonprofit practitioners with no evaluation experience. Instead it was attended by emerging and mid-level evaluators excited to have a low-cost professional development opportunity and a chance to meet other local evaluators. The next event occurred a few months later at the AEA 2011 conference on Values and Valuing. There we met the Chicagoland Association and began a partnership to explore culturally responsive evaluation practices. We also solidified our intent to formally establish a WI affiliate. And finally, the last "event" is the fact that we observed over and over again that there were few evaluators from diverse backgrounds practicing in Wisconsin. These events inspired our formation and they will continue to inspire our direction!"

"As a young professional working in the field of evaluation, I am excited to be part of and have a formal group of evaluators to learn from and with! I am looking forward to the months ahead as we begin to establish our roots as a formal AEA affiliate and build a strong foundation that allows us as evaluators and Wisconsin communities to further the field of evaluation."

Miloney Thakrar

Founder and principal of Mind the Gender Gap, Inc. and partner at Mercedes Martin & Company, General Board Member

"I am excited to further advance the mission and vision of Milwaukee Evaluation!, Inc.  Most recently, I served as a facilitator at the summer Building Partnerships for Transformation: Wisconsin and African Evaluators + Leaders Planting Seeds for Change event in Madison."

Gerardo Rodriguez, Medical Student at UW-Madison, Board Treasurer

"At the heart of who I am and what I want to do is my family’s immigrant story. I did not grow up with much, but my parents’ hard work always made me feel wealthy. However, as I grew older, I saw how hard my parents and everyone else in my neighborhood struggled to make ends meet. This has always inspired me to do my best, but more importantly, to find ways to help my community empower itself. I’m very honored to be working with ¬°Milwaukee Evaluation!, and everyone who is part of this great organization. There’s no doubt in my mind that interacting with all of you will be a rewarding experience full of self-growth. I was an evaluator in Texas before moving to Wisconsin to attend medical school at the University of Wisconsin Madison."

Mari Gasiorowicz, Evaluator, Public Health Madison & Dane County and General Board Member

I am both excited and humbled to join the Board of iMilwaukee Evaluation! Inc.,  which I hold in very high regard as a model professional development organization that leads with values of racial equity and social justice. The most compelling aspect of my work at PHMDC involves collaborating with community partners to build evaluation capacity. I am committed to growing my own practice and contributing to the field of evaluation of systems-level approaches, like work done by coalitions, community organizers, and peer leaders.
