The 2020 World Evaluation Case Competition!

2020 World Evaluation Case Competition.

The evaluation case competition provides students with a hands-on experience of program evaluation. Meeting either online or in-person, and working within a fixed time-frame, teams of students analyze an evaluation case and prepare a report on their observations, conclusions and recommendations. A panel of judges rates the teams’ submissions, declares a winner, and provides feedback to all participants.

This short slide show provides a visual depiction of the evaluation case competition process. See www.worldcasecomp.one for further information.

Case competitions help build evaluation capacity. Experiencing the intellectual challenge and excitement of completing an evaluation project in less than a day gives the students an appreciation of evaluation that will be useful in any future career. Some participants will go on to become professional evaluators.

This is the third year of the world competition. Last year 19 teams from 11 countries around the world registered. With your help in raising awareness of the competition, the organizers hope to provide the case competition experience to many more students in 2020. To learn more via the poster below.
