seeking creative design, data viz

I am working on a fatherhood needs assessment project with UW Extension, and we’re looking for a creative design partner who has graphic design and data visualization skills to help us with creating versions of our results that people actually want to read and use. If you have these skills and are interested, please contact me at jenna.klink@wisc.edu . Seeing 1-2 of your prior project examples would be helpful.

This project started when we made it a priority to talk to fathers, since most of our parenting programs have mainly mothers participating, and we want that to change going forward. We’ve talked with fathers in six different focus groups and with organizations who serve fathers in a dozen interviews, and analyzed all of this in data jam format. Our team is super committed to this project and so excited to make our findings widely available and used, beyond just our own organization.

Our budget is about $3,800. Stating that up front so that you can assess whether one or more of our requests would be doable, and if you’re interested in discussing more. We are open to the fact that we may not be able to get all of these things done for that budget, or that we may need to err on the leaner side (5 short documents vs 10, for example, in the 1st bullet below).

Desired Products:

  • Creating 5-10 short and sweet documents that highlight key findings and recommendations from the needs assessment, for example one targeted for schools, another targeted for those working in the ‘justice’ system, etc.
  • Developing appropriate and accessible data visualization (infographics, graphic design)based on the report findings
  • Formatting the final report (long version) on the needs assessment, this doesn’t need to beas pretty because it will likely get used much less than the 5-10 documents above
  • Creating slides for our outreach dissemination that are visually appealing and include key concepts from above products
  • Editing our final report and shorter documents targeted to specific audiences - helping us get main points across, recommending what to keep/cut, using plain language

Also needed but not sure if this is in your wheelhouse or if we have enough budget
